Disabling ETW autologger sessions: what they record and what you lose
Short answer
UpdatedAutologgers are event tracing sessions Windows starts at boot to record diagnostics for networking, updates and telemetry. Each has a Start value; 0 keeps it from starting. This tweak switches off a set of diagnostic sessions. In the registry it sets Start to 0 under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\DiagLog, and 2 more values.

What it does
Autologgers are event tracing sessions Windows starts at boot to record diagnostics for networking, updates and telemetry. Each has a Start value; 0 keeps it from starting. This tweak switches off a set of diagnostic sessions.
In the app the switch is called "Disable ETW Autologgers", described there as: Stops verbose network/diag autologgers that add CPU jitter.
When it helps, and when it hurts
When it helps
- Removing constant low-level logging, which adds a little disk and processor work.
When it hurts
- Windows keeps fewer diagnostics, so troubleshooting network or update problems gets harder.
- The saving is small on a modern PC.
What it writes
Exactly what the switch changes, read from the app's source. Switching it off is what the app writes when you turn the tweak off again.
| Key and value | With the tweak | Switching it off |

You do not need the app for this one. These commands make the changes from the table above. Run them in a Command Prompt opened as administrator, and make a restore point first.

In the app: Yes
Switching it off sets a standard Windows value, which may not be exactly how you had it.
Switch the tweak off in Frozen Tweaks. It writes Start back to 1, Start back to 1, Start back to 1.
Changing several settings at once? The app's Make a restore point button, on every plan, makes a Windows restore point before you start.
Verdict
Safe for a gaming PC, with a benefit you are unlikely to measure.
