# WaaSMedicSvc: what Windows Update Medic does and disabling it

**Short answer:** WaaSMedicSvc repairs Windows Update when its components are damaged or switched off. It is the reason Windows Update services come back after you disable them. This tweak sets it to Disabled. It sets the WaaSMedicSvc service to Disabled.

## In the app

- Switch: Disable Windows Update Medic (Windows, Pro, Advanced)
- Undo: Yes. Switching it off sets a standard Windows value, which may not be exactly how you had it.
