**Short answer:** UsoSvc schedules Windows Update: it scans for updates, downloads them and plans the installation and restart. This tweak sets it to Disabled. It sets the UsoSvc service to Disabled.

## In the app

- Switch: Disable Update Orchestrator (Windows, Pro, Advanced)
- Undo: Partial. Switching it off sets the Update Orchestrator service to Manual. Windows ships it as Automatic (Delayed Start).
- Catalog row: https://frozentweaks.com/tweaks#t-1082

## What it does

In the app the switch is called "Disable Update Orchestrator", described there as: Stops UsoSvc to prevent aggressive scan/schedule/installs.

## When it helps

## When it hurts

- Windows Update stops working, and the Update page in Settings may show errors.
- No security updates arrive until you switch it back and update by hand.

## What it writes

| Service | With the tweak | Switching it off |

## The same change by hand

Run in a Command Prompt opened as administrator. Make a restore point first.

```bat
sc config "UsoSvc" start= disabled
```

Put it back:

```bat
sc config "UsoSvc" start= demand
```

## How to undo it

Switch the tweak off in Frozen Tweaks. It sets UsoSvc to Manual. Switching it off sets the Update Orchestrator service to Manual. Windows ships it as Automatic (Delayed Start).
