# IsDynamicSearchBoxEnabled 0: turning off search highlights in Windows

**Short answer:** Search highlights are the daily illustrations and trending items in the search box and search panel. IsDynamicSearchBoxEnabled set to 0 turns them off. In the registry it sets IsDynamicSearchBoxEnabled to 0 under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchSettings.
