# RetailDemo: disabling the Retail Demo Service

**Short answer:** The Retail Demo Service runs the store display mode that shows off a PC on a shop shelf. On your own PC it never does anything. This tweak disables it.

## In the app

- Switch: Disable Retail Demo (Debloat, Pro, Advanced)
- Undo: Yes. Switching it off sets a standard Windows value, which may not be exactly how you had it.
- Catalog row: https://frozentweaks.com/tweaks#t-1089

## What it does

The Retail Demo Service runs the store display mode that shows off a PC on a shop shelf. On your own PC it never does anything. This tweak disables it.

In the app the switch is called "Disable Retail Demo", described there as: Hard-disables RetailDemo mode and content pulls.

## When it helps

- Nothing measurable. It removes a service that should never run at home.

## When it hurts

- Nothing, unless the PC is a shop display.

## What it writes

Read from the app's source. "Switching it off" is what the app writes when you turn the tweak off again.

This tweak has no fixed list of registry values: it works through a driver's own settings, scheduled tasks or values that differ from PC to PC. The app reads what your PC has and changes only that.

## How to undo it

Switch the tweak off in Frozen Tweaks.

## Verdict

Pure housekeeping.
