# Disable network connectivity in standby: the Modern Standby NetworkConnected value

**Short answer:** On Modern Standby PCs, Windows can keep the network connected while the PC sleeps so mail and updates keep arriving. This tweak sets the policy that disconnects the network in standby. In the registry it sets NetworkConnected to 0 under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\ModernSleep.
