# Signing in, and the 6-digit code we email you

**Short answer:** The app needs a free account to check your plan and tie your license to your PC. You create it on frozentweaks.com with a name, your email and a password, then type the 6-digit code we email you. The code only confirms your email and works for 10 minutes. Then log in to the app with the same email and password.

## How to create your account

1. **Create the account**: Open [Create account](https://frozentweaks.com/login?tab=register) on frozentweaks.com and enter your name, your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
2. **Type the 6-digit code**: We email you a 6-digit code. Type it in within 10 minutes. Not there? Check spam and promotions.
3. **Log in to the app**: Open Frozen Tweaks and log in with the same email and password. The free plan is on right away, with no payment details.

## The code didn't arrive

- Wait a minute, then check spam and promotions.
- After 60 seconds you can select **Send a new code**. Use the code from the newest email.
- A typo in your address? Select **Use a different email** and sign up again.
- The site says **Too many tries**? Wait a few minutes, then ask for a new code.

The code only confirms your email. We never ask for your email password or a PIN.

## The app says Login failed

The app shows **Login failed** for every sign-in problem, so check on the website: [log in on frozentweaks.com](https://frozentweaks.com/login) with the same email and password. The website tells you what's wrong:

- **Confirm your email first**: the address isn't confirmed yet. Select **Send code** and type the new code.
- **That email and password don't match**: try again, or select **Forgot password?** to set a new one. The reset link works for 1 hour.
- Logged in on the website, but the app still fails? Check the PC's internet connection: the app needs it to sign in.

### Why does a free app need an account?

The app needs a log-in to check your plan and tie your license to your PC. The free plan has no time limit and asks for no payment details.

### What is the 6-digit code for?

It only confirms that the email address is yours. It works for 10 minutes. You need one when you create the account, and again only if you log in before your email is confirmed.

### Do I need a new account for Pro?

No. Pro and Elite go on the same account. If you paid as a guest, redeem your license key on that account.
