# Move your license to a new PC

**Short answer:** Your license works in the app on the PC you sign in on first. To move it to a new PC, or after reinstalling Windows, request a device reset on your dashboard under License and PC, or write to support. We reset it free of charge and confirm by email when you can sign in on the new PC.

## How to move your license

1. **Request a device reset**: On your [dashboard](https://frozentweaks.com/dashboard), under **License and PC**, select **Request a device reset**, pick what happened and select **Send request**.
2. **Or write to support**: No access to the dashboard? Use the [contact form](https://frozentweaks.com/contact) with the topic **Move my license to a new PC**, and include your license key or the email of your account, and what changed.
3. **Wait for our email**: We usually reply within 24 to 48 hours on business days, and confirm by email when your license is free to use on the new PC.
4. **Sign in on the new PC**: [Download Frozen Tweaks](https://frozentweaks.com/download) on the new PC and log in with the same account.

## What does Device Locked mean?

If the app says **Device Locked: License is already bound to another machine.**, your license is still tied to the PC you used before. Nothing is wrong with your account: request a reset as above.

## Before you switch PCs

Want the old PC back the way it was? Switch its tweaks off in the app, or roll back to a restore point, before you request the reset. [Undo a tweak or roll back the run](https://frozentweaks.com/help/undo-tweak-roll-back) shows both.

## Questions

### Does a Windows reinstall count as a new PC?

It can. If the app says Device Locked after you reinstalled Windows or changed hardware, request a reset. Resets are free when you change PCs or reinstall Windows.

### Can I use my license on two PCs at once?

No. A license works on one Windows PC at a time.

### Does a reset cost anything?

No. We reset it free of charge.
